Dr. Emmanuel C. S. Santos Designated as Treasurer of the ALARA Board

Medici Di Makati College proudly congratulates our CEO and Research Director, Dr. Emmanuel C. S. Santos on his designation as Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Action Learning, Action Research Association (ALARA).

ALARA is an international association that promotes action learning and action research, bringing together researchers, practitioners, and organizations committed to collaborative learning, knowledge sharing, and positive change.

Advancing Research and International Collaboration

In September 2025, Dr. Santos and Medici Di Makati College hosted the Manila leg of the 11th Action Learning Action Research and 15th Participatory Action Research World Congress. The event brought together researchers and practitioners from various countries to exchange knowledge, share research, and strengthen international collaboration.

During the congress, Dr. Santos and his co-authors presented “Leadership Certification Program in the Philippine Civil Service: A Ten-Year Retrospective,” highlighting insights into leadership certification and development within the Philippine Civil Service.

In September 2026, Dr. Santos presented another research work, “Logos Dynamics: When the Problem is the Problem,” at the University of Melbourne, Australia. This presentation further reflects his participation in international academic discussions and his continued engagement in research.

Research with Community Impact

Beyond academic presentations, Dr. Santos is also involved in Community Participatory Action Research, including a community gardening project aimed at addressing undernutrition among Indigenous children in a remote Philippine community. This initiative involves collaboration with MDMC Dean Ganimede Joya and Overall Clinical Coordinator Ann Orejudos.

The project highlights the role of participatory research in connecting academic work with community needs and developing practical, community-centered approaches to social challenges.

A Milestone in Academic Leadership

Dr. Santos’ designation as ALARA Board Treasurer recognizes his continuing involvement in the international action learning and action research community. His participation in research congresses, academic presentations, and community-based initiatives reflects his commitment to research, collaboration, and meaningful impact.
