Nursing board top-notchers at Medici di Makati College

Three graduates of Medici di Makati College landed in the top 10 spots of the Nursing Licensure Examinations held in November 2021. Natalie Joyce Mariano placed second with an overall rating of 88.8%. Olivia Marielle L. Javier and Geraldine Anne F. Marasigan both placed sixth with a rating of 87.4% each.

They were part of a cohort of recent graduates who all passed their licensure exams, with no exception. At simple rites held last week at their campus in Makati, Dean Ganz Joya and other officials of the college recognized the sterling performance of this batch by hosting a lunch and handing over gratuities to the topnotch students, as is customary at the college.

Medici College has been affiliated with the prestigious Makati Medical Center since its founding in 1975. It is considered a high performing institution by the Professional Regulatory Commission for consistently maintaining a high board pass rate of over 90% of all its graduates.

The alumni are highly sought after for employment. Those who recently completed their Bachelor of Science in Nursing were immediately snapped up by the recruitment offices at the Makati Medical Center and the Philippine General Hospital, Dean Joya said. The college has a close working relationship with these hospitals. Its graduate placement program has a high success rate in terms of finding employment for its alumni.

Registered Nurse Mariano narrated the moment she learned of her placing second in the licensure exam. She said, “I was on a call with my friends since everyone was really expecting it to be released that night. When we learned that we all passed, we were all crying already and only 10 minutes after that, did I find out that I was in the Top 2 spot. I was in shock because I did not expect it at all.”

Sixth placer, Registered Nurse Marasigan, for her part expressed gratitude to Medici College “for being a great part of my journey.” She went on to say, “This experience has been surreal, but it definitely is a great start to becoming a valuable healthcare professional in these trying times.” Registered Nurse Javier who also placed sixth found it to be a “big blessing from God” and “proof that with hard work and sacrifice, success is not too far away.”

Medici di Makati College is located at 1061 Metropolitan Avenue, San Antonio Village, Makati City. Sections of incoming first year students for the following academic year 2022-2023 are quickly filling up. Dean Joya said, “We are being inundated with applications, but there are still some spots remaining for those wanting to apply to study our degrees in nursing, radiological technology and psychology.”
